The 2025 Fujian Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has begun accepting applications from May 10 to July 10.

Eligibility requirements:

The main applicant must hold a master's degree or higher from an overseas institution or have at least two years of overseas innovation or entrepreneurship experience. They should currently be abroad or have returned to China after Jan 1, in 2022, for employment or to establish a business and be under 55 years old.

The project must feature fully independent intellectual property with technology at an internationally advanced or a leading domestic level. The business plan should demonstrate a clear model and strong market potential, free from IP disputes or commercial infringements.

The main applicant must be the primary owner of the project or hold the legitimate rights to its use. For established companies, the applicant should be a founder, major shareholder (largest individual stakeholder), or core technology holder with equity.

Each applicant may submit only one project. Those previously supported by national or Fujian provincial talent programs are ineligible.

Competition tracks:

Digital economy: AI, integrated circuits, software, cloud computing, big data.

Biotech: Biotechnology, medical devices, pharmaceuticals.

Advanced manufacturing: New energy, advanced materials, equipment manufacturing.

Schedule:

Preliminary Round (July): Online expert review; shortlisted projects advance to finals.

Finals (early September): On-site pitch sessions in Xiamen during the China International Fair for Investment & Trade, followed by awards, industry tours and investor matchmaking.

Awards & benefits:

Winners (1st/2nd/3rd places and excellence awards) will receive tailored talent policies and startup support if they establish operations in Fujian within one year.
